Solar and battery power for WA businesses, step by step
We look at how your business actually uses power, then design, install and look after a system that fits. One local team from the first chat to well after switch-on.
Energy Direction is a Western Australian solar and battery installer based in Bentley. We work with businesses across Perth and regional WA, from country cafés to farms and workshops. Our commercial systems use Deye inverters and batteries, and we’re licensed, insured and CEC accredited. Every job follows the same clear steps, so you always know what’s happening next.
Our step-by-step approach
1. A free chat and site visit
We start with a chat about your business, your opening hours and what you want to fix, whether that’s high bills, outages or diesel costs. Then we come out and look at your roof, switchboard and site.
2. We get your power data
With your OK, we deal with Synergy, Western Power and your retailer on your behalf to get your bills and your half-hourly interval data. That shows exactly when your business uses power, not just how much.
3. Design and savings modelling
We size the solar and battery around your real usage, including busy kitchens, cool rooms, machinery and evening peaks. Where your bill includes capacity or demand charges, we model how a battery can bring them down.
4. A clear written proposal
You get a written proposal that sets out the system, what it’s designed to do and the estimated savings, with no surprises. We’ll walk you through it and answer your questions.
5. Approvals and paperwork handled
We prepare and lodge the Western Power and Synergy applications for you, so your system is approved before it’s connected.
6. Installation with minimal disruption
We plan the install around your trading hours so your doors stay open as much as possible, and keep you updated each day we’re on site.
7. Switch-on, handover and live monitoring
Once it’s commissioned, we hand over the manuals and show you and your staff how it works. Our after-sales team monitors your system live through Deye Cloud so we can spot issues early.
8. Ongoing support
We don’t disappear after the job. We look after service and warranty, and keep helping you manage your power use, capacity charges and electricity contracts. We also make seasonal adjustments to your battery settings, so your system keeps getting the most out of summer sun and winter conditions.
Who it suits
- Cafés, restaurants and shops – kitchens, coffee machines and fridges use most of their power in the day, right when the sun’s up.
- Farms and stations – keep pumps, sheds and homesteads running, and cut generator run-time on off-grid sites.
- Workshops and small factories – daytime machinery is a natural fit for solar.
- Cool rooms and refrigeration businesses – batteries help with evening peaks and capacity charges.
- Manufacturers – larger systems sized from your interval data.
- Country businesses that lose power often – battery backup keeps you trading when the grid goes down.

Case example: Jeanne d’Moore, Moora
The much-loved Jeanne d’Moore café on Gardiner Street in Moora had a familiar country problem: power outages that meant lost stock and closed doors. We installed solar and a large Deye battery that backs up the whole building. Now when the power goes out, the whole café keeps running: coffee machine, kitchen, fridges and all. Thanks to Craig and the team for having us.
